A number of shootings and a pipebomb blast have occurred in the area over recent weeks and months.

It is feared a local feud between parties involved in a dispute could lead to loss of life.

On October 5 last shots were fired at a house around 2.15am in the nearby O’Malley Park estate, in Southill.

Again no injuries were reported.

On July 15th last, a man in his 30s was injured when a pipe bomb exploded damaging two houses on Hyde Road.

GardaĆ said they ā€œattended the scene of an explosion of a viable device, at approximately 3.10amā€ and that ā€œone man aged in his early 30s received injuries to his arm which were non-life threateningā€.

On June 4 last, GardaĆ appealed for information about an afternoon drive-by shooting on Hyde Road.

At least one shot was fired from a firearm in the vicinity of a number of people around 1.15pm.

Again ā€œno injuries were reportedā€.

A Garda source confirmed a car was used in the June 4 gun attack but GardaĆ would not release a description of the car.

On May 15 last, shots were discharged at a house on Hyde Road at approximately 11.30pm and again ā€œno injuries were reportedā€.

GardaĆ at Roxboro Road asked to speak ā€œwith any witnesses who were in the vicinity of Hyde Road, Colbert Station, Parnell Street and other surrounding areas between 11:00pm and 11:45pm on Monday the 15th of May 2023ā€.
