A UKRAINIAN bookshelf has been installed in the Limerick City Library in response to growing demand from the large Ukrainian community that has settled in Limerick since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The selection of books was donated to the library by the Ukrainian Embassy, in collaboration with Ukrainian Ambassador Larysa Garasko.

More books will be added to the collection over time, following the official launch last week by Mayor Gerald Mitchell and Ambassador Garasko.

Mayor Mitchell said: “This bookshelf will not only serve as a source of solace and familiarity, but also as a bridge connecting diverse cultures.โ€
