THE Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) has warned that the national blood stock has reached critically low levels, as supply has fallen to just three days, rather than the seven days the IBTS aims to have in regular stock.

On the back of this, the IBTS are appealing to Limerick donors to give blood at a number of upcoming clinics.

Clinics are scheduled for St Munchin’s College, Corbally, on Monday (November 6), Caherconlish Community Centre on Tuesday (November 7), the Devon Inn, Templeglantine, on Wednesday and Thursday (November 8 and 9).

All clinics will run from 4.50pm to 8.10pm each day.

The IBTS are particularly appealing to those with O-, A-, and B- donors to give blood as these are shortest in supply.
