LABOUR Party councillor Joe Leddin has questioned the local authority on its contractor to collect and maintain dog fouling bins in the Metropolitan District, as well as the frequency of collection times.

According to Council Director of Environment Vincent Murray, the Domestic Waste and Litter Team manage three dog bins located at Dooradoyle Road; Church Road, Raheen; and the Father Russell Road.

“Each bin is serviced weekly by an authorised waste collector, Whites Skip Hire.

Any of the general waste litter bins provided by Limerick City and County Council’s Cleansing Team may be used for disposing of dog waste,” Mr Murray explained.
