Man due in court in connection with Westbury burglaries

A MAN is due in court in Limerick this morning (Wednesday, 8  November), in connection with a number of burglaries on the outskirts of the city.

An Garda Síochána have confirmed that a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested and charged in connection with a number of burglaries that took place in the Westbury area on Tuesday morning (7 November).

The man was arrested and detained at a garda station in the Limerick area.

He is due before court this morning in relation to these incidents. In a statement, An Garda Síochána said: “Gardaí at Henry Street investigating a number of burglaries at residences in the Westbury area of Limerick city that occurred on the morning of Tuesday 7th November 2023 have arrested and charged a man as part of their investigation.”

“The man was detained at a Garda station in County Limerick under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

The statement concludes: “He has since been charged and will appear before Limerick District Court at 10:30am on Wednesday 8th November 2023.”
