AN opportunistic assailant caused costly damage to a car in Murroe last month (Friday, October 20), according to local Gardaí.

The rear window of a black Dacia Duster was smashed in by an unknown thug on Friday, October 20, at Garranbawn Court in Morroe.

Henry Street Garda John Finnerty said the car’s owner had parked it in the residential estate at around 1pm.

The owner returned to the vehicle at around 9pm the same evening to find the window had been “smashed by a rock”.

Gardaí in Murroe are asking anyone who may have information helpful to the investigation to come forward on 061 386 102.
