THE Irish Red Cross and local authorities nationwide have launched a renewed appeal to anyone who has a vacant property or room to offer them to those fleeing the war in Ukraine.

The call comes as hundreds of people from Ukraine continue to arrive in Ireland each week.

Those with accommodation to offer can receive an €800 per month tax-free payment.

More than 98,000 people from Ukraine have arrived in Ireland since the war broke out, with the Government under severe pressure to accommodate them as the country battles the housing crisis.

Anyone with accommodation is asked to make an offer on offerahome.ie
