Local councillor questions popularity of Local Authority Home Loan scheme

A LOCAL councillor has questioned the Council on the number of Local Authority Home Loan applications.

Labour party councillor Joe Leddin was told that since August 2022, Limerick City and County Council have received 68 Local Authority Home Loan applications.

In response to a question put to the Council by Labour Party councillor Joe Leddin on the nature of the applications, Senior Executive Officer of the Council’s Housing Support Services Mary Hayes explained the breakdown of those applications.

She explained that 26 of the Local Authority Home Loan applications were approved, 21 applications were refused, while the remainder of the applications were returned by the Council as either incomplete or ineligible.
