A word from the Desmond League

HOLDERS Rathkeale A have been paired with Glin Rovers in the semi-final of the Desmond League Cup, while the other semi will involve Athea United and Breska Rovers.

Both fixtures have been confirmed for the league’s headquarters at Clounreask (Askeaton), with dates to be confirmed.

Desmond interest in the Munster Junior Cup ended with the weekend elimination of both Breska and St. Ita’s.

Top action on Sunday revolves around the Premier League with Rathkeale at Breska, Athea home to neighbours Abbeyfeale United and Creeves Celtic as visitors to early pace-setters Glin.

The previous afternoon, Askeaton-Kilcornan AFC travel to face Castlebar Celtic in the FAI Youths Cup, while in the same competition Granagh United are in Clare to face Bridge United.
