A WOMAN in Mungret got the fright of her life earlier this month when she spotted a would-be burglar while routinely checking her home CCTV recording.
The recording, taken around 4.00am on Monday November 13, showed a man dressed in all black and wearing a balaclava attempting to open her front door via the handle.
“Fortunately the lady locks all of her doors,” said Henry Street Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.
“This male walked on and without doubt tried other homes and cars”.

Sgt Leetch warned residents throughout the city and county to check all doors and windows before leaving the house or going to bed.
