Following the festive recess, action resumes in the Premier League over the weekend.

This (Saturday) evening, fourth-placed Fairview Rangers host Nenagh, leaders Aisling Annacotty welcome Newport, and Ballynanty Rovers entertain struggling Charleville.

The following morning (Sunday) it’s holders Pike Rovers v Geraldines and Mungret Regional against Carew Park.

There are also 18 fixtures in the Lawson Cup listed for Sunday morning.

In the Munster Junior Cup, in-form Regional United are at Villa FC (Waterford) on Sunday at 2pm.

Action is also scheduled to recommence in the Desmond League this weekend. Here Creeves Celtic are the surprise early pace-setters, with maximum points from their four outings.

On the senior front, Treaty United have scored with the festive signing from First Division champions Galway United of Oisín O’Reilly.

Capable across the back line, the 23-year-old will bring a physical presence to the Treaty rearguard as Tommy Barrett’s side look for silverware this season. Also signed, again from Galway, is defender Evan O’Connor.

The club has confirmed the departure of both Seán Guerins and Conor Barry.
