Limerick senior football suffer heavy loss ahead of meeting with Tipperary

Limerick suffered a heavy loss, 6-18 to 0-11, to All-Ireland Finalists Kerry in the opening round of the McGrath Cup (Senior Football) at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

The home outfit are in transitional phase following wholesale squad departures from last season.

Limerick will face Tipperary in Templetuohy on this afternoon (Sunday) at 2pm.

In the opening round of the National League, the Shannonsiders are home to Antrim at the end of the month.
