VIDEO footage of a housing estate in Limerick City, in which eight loud gunshots are heard, has been shared across social media.

The footage shows a dark-coloured vehicle driving on Crecora Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, a built-up housing estate, before a burst of eight successive gunshots are heard.

A time-stamp on the corresponding video footage indicates the recording was made last Monday night (January 15).

When asked for comment, a Garda spokeswoman said that āGardaĆ responded to reports of an incident in Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick City, Monday 15th January 2024, at approximately 9.45pm.ā

āNo offences were disclosed,ā the spokeswoman added.

A Garda source said that no visible damage was caused to persons or property in the estate on the night.
