THE council has been urged to carry out a survey on all the manhole covers in Abbeyfeale from Mountmahon to Dalton’s Cross, Joy’s Corner to the Mart, and the Killarney Road.
In response to Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin’s request at a recent Newcastle West area meeting, the council’s senior executive engineer, John Sheehan, explained that there were two major projects commencing from mid-January 2024 in Mountmahon to the church on the N21 and a traffic management scheme from the church to Killarney Road.
“In the meantime, there are two manhole covers which have been determined as being low and a contractor has been procured to raise these,” he said.
