FINE Gael councillor John Sheahan has called on Limerick City and County Council to extend the public footpath on the Glin Road from Athea village to the Galeside estate.
The councillor was informed at last month’s Newcastle West area meeting of the local authority that a large allocation was attributed to Athea during 2022/2023.
“This project will be added to the current list of priorities and the works will be carried out when funding will be available,” the local authority explained.
