Fitzgibbon Cup action on the horizon

THE semi-finals and final of the Fitzgibbon Cup (Third-Level Colleges Hurling) will all take place in the coming week.

First into action on Wednesday are Mary Immaculate College and SETU in Mallow, 5.15pm.

The other semi, between holders University of Limerick and University of Galway will take place later that evening (6.30pm) at St. Joseph’s Doora-Barefield, Clare.

Jason Gillane (Patrickswell), Shane O’Brien (Kilmallock) and Oisín O’Farrell (Askeaton) feature for Mary I.

UL include Conor Hanly-Clarke (Kilmallock), Fergal O’Connor (Effin), Colin Coughlan (Ballybrown), Brian O’Grady (Kilteely/Dromkeen), Adam English (Doon), Patrick O’Donovan (Effin) and Aidan O’Connor (Ballybrown).

The final will take place on Saturday, February 17 in Abbeydorney, county Kerry, with a 2.45pm start.
