Councillor raises concerns about proposed location for Caherdavin playground

Metropolitan District councillor Olivia O'Sullivan.

FINE Gael councillor Olivia O’Sullivan, who has been campaigning for a playground for the Caherdavin area, has expressed multiple concerns regarding a location previously identified by the council for the project.

The location is based on the green area along the Ennis Road, behind the Derravaragh Road bus stop at the Caherdavin Shopping Centre.

According to Cllr O’Sullivan, local residents have flagged concerns including drainage issues, safety concerns for children with heavy traffic in the area, and parking, given the site is already a busy local centre with shops, a pharmacy, and other businesses.

“I also have concerns over the limited footprint in this location.”

“The playground would be limited in size with little potential to develop further,” she said.
