Young boy airlifted to University Hospital Limerick after suffering serious injuries

A 10-year-old boy who suffered serious injuries after a road accident in Shannon, County Clare, was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick for treatment on Sunday (February 25).

The accident happened just after 2pm on Sunday at Purcell Park in Shannon. The child received received emergency medical attention at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

The entrance to Purcell Park was closed yesterday while forensic forensic and technical examinations of the scene were carried out.
Gardaí are investigations are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365 900.
