
LABOUR councillor Joe Leddin has confirmed that a commencement notice to construct 384 residential units on a 10.44 hectare site comprising of 202 houses and 182 duplex apartments will be submitted Limerick City and County Council next week.
The site which is located to the rear of Ballinvoher, Inis Mor and Inis Lua housing estates was formerly identified as a possible location for a neighbourhood park by the former Limerick County Council.
“The development consists of 202 houses including two, three and four-bed houses and 182 apartments together with a new childcare facility,” Cllr Leddin told the Limerick Post.
“The lands at Ballykeeffe are strategically located with close access to the Dock Road, Fr Russell Road and Mungret. Access to the new housing development will be from the existing roundabout located on the R510 opposite the entrance to Ard Aulin estate.

“Limerick City and County Council also owns land adjacent to the old railway line which could also be developed as a recreational amenity for wider community,” he added.
