Pike Rovers to represent Limerick in FAI Youth Cup final

Pike Rovers are through to the FAI Youth Cup Final following a thrilling penalty shoot-out win over Peamount in Dublin.

The sides were level at 1-1 after extra time, with the Pike strike courtesy of Shane Franklin.

A marathon session of penalties followed after which the visitors prevailed 14-13, with the crucial save from Mariusz Palen.

In the semi-final of the FAI Junior Cup, Pike were below par in a 1-0 loss to Cockhill Celtic (Donegal) at Jackman Park.

Pike will return to Premier League action on Sunday (10.30am) with a visit from Ballynanty Rovers.

Meanwhile, there will be plenty of interest in the MIG.ie Munster Junior Shield Final between Aisling Annacotty and Ballynanty Rovers at Jackman Park on Saturday (6.30pm).
