Montpelier Triple Peak Challenge aims to save community hall

The people of Montpelier are asked to join the Triple Peak Challenge to save Montpelier Community Hall.

THE people of Montpelier are set to take on a steep challenge this coming weekend.

On Saturday April 20, members of the Montpelier Community Centre will put their best foot forward for their annual Triple Peak challenge, climbing Millennium Cross, Moylussa, and the 12 O’Clock Hills.

The challenge will raise funds to redevelop the former primary school in Montpelier, previously closed in the 1960s, which is now under threat from dry rot.

“We’ve lots of plans for the future and how we can open up this space to young and old, but for now we need to preserve the building,” said committee chairperson Paul Slattery.
