Sadness at passing of former Limerick GAA chairman

The late Brendan Danaher.

A WELL-KNOWN member of the County Limerick farming and sporting community has passed away, namely Brendan Danaher.

He died peacefully in hospital at the start of the week, having earlier spent some time at Beech Lodge Nursing Home in Bruree.

Mr. Danaher (Castletown/Ballyagran) was a former member of Limerick County Council and during the 1990s was Chairman of Limerick GAA.

He also served for a period as Chairman of GVM Mart.

Most recently of Fort Lodge in Charleville, Mr. Danaher’s remains will repose at Daffy’s Funeral Home, Ballyagran on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, Ballyagran on Thursday at 11am, with burial at Colmanswell Cemetery.

Pre-deceased by his wife Kay, Mr. Danaher is survived by their children Rosemaree, Ambrose and Pierce, son-in-law Clive and grandchildren Brianna and Alexandra.
