Shirley Callaghan’s new music is inspired by events in Palestine

SINGER/SONGWRITER Shirley Callaghan has released her third single called ‘Baby Blue’. The piano led and very poignant song was inspired by events in Palestine over the past six months. Shirley describes it as a protest song where she expresses her outrage at children starving and the seemingly criminal behaviour of world leaders either participating in the violence or standing idly by as innocent people suffer.

Shirley’s music is strikingly haunting and atmospheric, particularly on ‘Baby Blue’.

In 2023, Shirley completed a two-year songwriting course with the Songwriting Academy of London which is where she met multiplatinum songwriter and producer Paul Statham.

Expect more music this year with an EP in the works and Shirley plays live at the Cosmic Gardens Festival in Inagh on Saturday June 15.
