A PLANNING application has been submitted to Limerick City and County Council for a children’s respite centre.

The application is on behalf of Avista, a charity which provides services for children and adults with disabilities, with a Limerick base in St Vincent’s Centre in Lisnagry.

It is hoped that a single storey six-bed facility at Woodstown, Annacotty, will be built, with a play area, car parking spaces, landscaping, and all associated works.

The development would provide respite for children and their families and carers.

Avista is responsible for various services in Limerick including for adults with intellectual disability at St Vincent’s.
