Pritchard wins historic Rás leg in Kilmallock

ALEX Pritchard sprinted to victory in the opening leg of Rás Tailteann which had a historic finish on Kilmallock’s Lord Edward Street.

In front of a bumper crowd, the UK cyclist finished ahead of Paul Kenney (USA) and fellow countryman Dom Jackson.

In fourth was Ireland’s Dillon Corkery, the defending champion.

Wednesday’s stage was from Tullamore, Offaly to the South Limerick town.
