AN AREA has been identified by Limerick City and County Council for a new dog park to be established in Castletroy Park.

Responding to a question from Labour councillor Elena Secas at a recent Metropolitan District meeting, the local authority informed councillors present that further consideration must now be given to the site as it is very wet and will require drainage works to be undertaken.

The council said there is €7,000 in funding available for the dog park and further funding of €15,000 will be required to complete the fencing and drainage works.
