POTENTIAL World Champion Paddy ‘The Real Deal’ Donovan extended his unbeaten professional record to 15 with another stoppage victory in Leeds at the weekend, this time in the defence of his WBA Continental Welterweight Title against Lewis Ritson.

The fight was halted by Howard Foster in the early stages of the ninth round.

It represented an 11th stoppage win for Andy Lee-trained Donovan, a product of Our Lady of Lourdes BC.

Ritson is a former British Lightweight Champion.

The mix of the exciting Donovan’s talent, honed by the nous of Lee, makes for a road ahead littered with all kinds of promise.

Next up for Donovan is a possible all-Irish clash with Lewis Crocker of Belfast later in the year.

Earlier on the card, Limerick’s Graham McCormack suffered an opening round stoppage against George Liddard (UK) in a middleweight bout.
