Limerick TD hopes for Independent sweep on election day

COUNTY Limerick TD Richard Oโ€™Donoghue is predicting gains in the upcoming elections for the new Independent Ireland party, of which he is a founding member and general secretary.

In Limerick, the partyโ€™s candidates include Esther Aherne (Limerick City West), Cllr John Oโ€™Donoghue (Adare-Rathkeale), Tommy Hartigan (Adare-Rathkeale), Grรกinne Hanley (Cappamore-Kilmallock), Jim Barrett (Newcastle West), Pat King (Newcastle West), and Ruth Clarke (Limerick City North).

In Europe, candidates include Eddie Punch (Ireland South), Niall Boylan (Dublin), and Ciarรกn Mulooly (Midlands North West).

Deputy Oโ€™Donoghue is counting on recent polling figures to put ticks in Independent boxes.

โ€œWe have a very strong team running across several elections on Friday, and we are confident that Independent Ireland will be well represented after the weekend,โ€ said Deputy Oโ€™Donoghue.

โ€œOur candidates are passionate about making our counties better, much better. They are all well suited to Independent Ireland, and I hope our party will gain extra representation at local Government and European level.โ€
