LIMERICK’S participation in ‘Jerseys At The Dogs’ nationwide bucket collection helped contribute €10,000 to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.

The foundation, in memory of Dillon, who died aged 24 during a hurling match in Thurles two years ago, was created with the aim of raising awareness and setting up a screening programme which will screen every player (both male and female) from 12 years of age upwards.

Dan Quirke, father of Dillon, said: “We are deeply appreciative of Greyhound Racing Ireland’s support.

“The funds raised will go a long way in furthering our mission and ensuring Dillon’s legacy lives on.”
