THREE Limerick students have been honoured as female cycling ambassadors.

Éadaoin O’Sullivan, Emily McMahon, and Zoe Oliszewska from Crescent College Comprehensive were honoured for their contributions to female cycling at the #AndSheCycles awards in Dublin.

The #AndSheCycles programme is an initiative of Green Schools Travel, following research that showed a huge discrepancy in the number of girls who cycle to school.

The Limerick students received a medal for their achievements.

Orla Patton, #AndSheCycles coordinator, said that “the ambassadors have been working tirelessly throughout the school year to dismantle gender barriers, promote inclusion, and create opportunities for girls to cycle.”
