The valuable Listed Irish EBF Martin Molony Stakes of €42,500 is the featured event on an attractive card at Limerick’s Greenmount Park, Patrickswell, on Saturday (1.30pm onwards).
A native of Crecora, Martin (1924-2017) was a legendary jockey who won the Irish Jumps Champion six years on the trot from 1946 to 1951.
Some of his wins were in the Irish Grand National, Cheltenham Gold Cup (with Silver Fame in 1951) and Irish Oaks.
Meanwhile, the action continues in the Time Greyhound Nutrion Greyhound Derby at Limerick later, 7.40pm.
