SPEEDY Sarah Lavin produced a sparkling new championship record of 12.79 seconds to retain her 100m hurdle title at the National Senior Track and Field Championships at Dublin’s Morton Stadium.
The Olympics (Paris, July 26 onwards) bound athlete from Emerald AC came home ahead of Carlow’s Molly Scott, with Kate Doherty (Dundrum, South Dublin) in third place.
“I think I’m where I want to be, ahead of where I was last year, and obviously you want to peak at the Olympics,” said Lavin.
It represented an astonishing 12th outdoor title, and her ninth success in this event, for the 30-year-old.
