SHIRLEY Real of Castletroy GC finished a commendable ninth at the Irish Senior Women’s Amateur Open Champioship at Lough Erne GC, Fermanagh.

The Championship was won after a play-off by America’s Lara Tennant, who bettered both Terrill Samuel (Canada) and Natalia Martínez-Reboredo of Spain in those extra holes.

Real, following a one-under par round of 71 (the lowest of the day), was right in contention entering the final day’s action.
