LIMERICK City and County Council has undertaken necessary works to make safe the crypt at Mount Saint Lawrence.
In response to a question from Fine Gael councillor Sarah Kiely, the local authority said it has secured the site and placed temporary fencing around it until the crypt can be fully restored.
“It is the Council’s intention to include the crypt as part of the upgrade works for the entire chapel and seek funding for the restoration of the crypt as part of the application to the Department for the full restoration of the chapel in Mount Saint Lawrence,” Senior Engineer Aidan Finn explained.
