WITH significant early departures from An Garda SĆochĆ”na, whose numbers in Limerick are well below 600 (566), one local politician has committed to enhancing support for frontline service providers.
Independent Ireland TD Richard O’Donoghue outlined plans by his party to unveil a comprehensive policy package designed to address “critical challenges” faced by members of An Garda SĆochĆ”na, as well as firefighters and healthcare professionals.
āThe escalating number of GardaĆ resigning from the force is a stark indicator of a system under immense strain. Independent Ireland is committed to ensuring that these vital service providers receive the support they need to thrive in their roles and to continue serving our communities,” Deputy OāDonoghue stated.
Other frontline professionals, the County Limerick politician continued, are also facing immense pressures in their daily duties. He says his party’s policy will include similar support structures, ensuring they receive necessary resources, financial incentives, and career development opportunities.
āWe owe it to those who protect and care for us to provide them with the best possible working conditions. Independent Ireland’s policies are designed to make these careers not just viable but rewarding, ensuring that our frontline workers are supported, valued, and empowered,” he said.
āIndependent Ireland stands firmly behind our GardaĆ, firefighters, and healthcare workers, recognising their indispensable role in maintaining the safety, health, and wellbeing of our communities. Through these targeted policies, we aim to foster a stronger, more resilient workforce, dedicated to serving our citizens and being well rewarded for doing so.”
