
LIMERICK Celtics are prominent in the Men’s Division One Basketball League table as they have inflicted a first loss on SETU Waterford Vikings, winning out 96-73, at the weekend.
Limerick book-ended this performance with big first and fourth-quarter wins as Ariyon Williams carded a game-high 33 points, while Finn Hughes and Abdul Wurie each weighed in with a further 18 for the visitors.
Limerick Sport Eagles battled back from seven points down early in the third quarter to dig out an 87-82 victory over Tipp Talons in UL Arena.
Alexander Carlisle spearheaded Limerick’s revival with a 24-point haul, while Sean Morrissey and Ignacio Folgueiras each chipped in with 14, the latter also serving up 10 rebounds and five assists.
