Sinn Féin announce second candidate to contest general election in Limerick City

Limerick Sinn Féin Senator Paul Gavan will contest the general election in Limerick City.

SINN Féin has announced a second candidate to contest the upcoming general election in Limerick City.

The party confirmed this past weekend that Senator Paul Gavan would be joining Deputy Maurice Quinlivan in the Limerick City constituency.

The Castleconnell senator is a former SIPTU union official and has campaigned in the areas of workers’ rights, health, Irish neutrality, and for the Limerick-led campaign for safe access zones at healthcare hubs.

Senator Gavan said he will be running on a “progressive platform of real change to tackle the crises in housing and in University Hospital Limerick. We will deliver record levels of housing and make renting affordable again.”
