THE IRISH Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is asking Limerick people to donate, with the demand for blood products higher than ever last month.
Last month recorded the highest demand for blood product requests from Irish hospitals and the IBTS issued a pre-amber alert to Irish hospitals urging them to conserve blood stocks last October.
Escalation to a full AMBER-Alert could impact on scheduled hospital procedures which require blood product support.

Sunday December 15: Castletroy Park Hotel, 11,50am – 3.10pm.
Monday December 16: Castletroy Park Hotel, 4.20pm – 7.40pm.
Tuesday December 17: Longcourt House Hotel, Newcastle West, 4.50pm – 8.10pm.
Wednesday December 18: Longcourt House Hotel, Newcastle West, 4.50pm – 8.10pm.
Sunday December 22: Radisson Hotel Ennis Road, 11.50am – 3.10pm
Sunday January 5: Castletroy Park Hotel, 11.50am – 3.10pm.
