INNOVATE Limerick through Film in Limerick and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board has announced an open call for applications for the Introduction to Creative Producing programme.
The programme, beginning in late January, runs for 20 weeks part-time, two evenings a week and on some Saturdays. It is aimed at storytellers with ambitions to produce feature films and TV series and is led by OSCAR-winning producer John McDonnell, whose credits include Vivarium starting Jesse Eisenberg and You Are Not My Mother, directed by Kate Dolan.
The fully-funded programme will address a wide range of skill areas, such as script editing, finance models, legal issues, effective distribution, film markets, and pitching.
With up to 30 current industry film professionals on board as guest tutors during the programme, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the business side of film and TV and develop careers as creative producers.
The course is funded by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board as part of its ongoing partnership with Film in Limerick to develop new film and TV talent in the region.
Previous participants have found work as assistant producers with film and TV companies, and are developing feature length film and tv projects with their own companies.
