A CALL has gone out to the people of Rathkeale and West Limerick to do help tackle “critically low blood stock” levels.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service, in light of a pre-amber alert over low blood stocks in Irish hospitals, is holding a blood donation at the Rathkeale House Hotel this Thursday (January 30).

The clinic will take place from 4.50pm to 8.10pm and the organisation says that all are welcome, including new donors.

A pre-amber alert over low blood stocks was issued by the service to Irish hospitals requesting their reduce their blood stock holdings to help bolster the stock nationwide.
