The search, seizure, and arrest was carried out under Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs campaign that aims to “disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels – international, national, and local”.

Operation Tara was launched in July 2021 by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and has been targeting the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale, and supply of drugs.
