A TREE planting initiative by Limerick City and County Council is beginning to take root in the community.
As part of National Tree Week, the Council is sowing the seeds for ambitious plans to plant 2,000 trees across 2025 with the help of Limerick communities.
The local authority is now calling on communities to contact their local councillors to suggest suitable greens for planting.
Planting is already underway on the Castletroy Urban Greenway, Mulcair Road, Greaney Close in Dooradoyle, Cannon Breen Park in Thomondgate, Janesboro Park, along with a number of other city and county parks.
