AS part of plans for a greener Limerick, Limerick City and County Council has announced that free tree saplings are available to the public for planting in the community.

The announcement comes as part of the Council’s plans for National Tree Week 2025.

4,000 saplings will be available at recycling centres in Mungret, Kilmallock, and Newcastle West.

Carmel Lynch, of the Council’s Environment and Climate Action team, commented: “Trees provide numerous benefits, from improving air quality to enhancing biodiversity. We look forward to seeing the community come together to support this effort.”
