
A MAN in his early 30s was critically injured when his motorcycle was involved in a road traffic collision tonight (Wednesday).
The collision occurred in the townland of Clounreask, on the Askeaton to Foynes stretch of the N69, County Limerick.
A major emergency services response is continuing.
According to reliable local sources, a man in his 30s who was riding a motorcycle was left with lifeโthreatening injuries.
A Garda spokeswoman said: โGardaรญ in Askeaton are currently at scene of a serious road traffic collision on the N69, Askeaton, that occurred this evening, Wednesday 9th April, 2025.โ
โThe road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. There are no further details, at this time.โ
The Garda spokeswoman said that Garda โinvestigations are ongoingโ into the circumstances of the collision.
Limerick Fine Gael city councillor Adam Teskey said the surrounding community was โin total shock at the devastating events on the N69โ.
โMy thoughts are obviously with the family, and Iโd like to thank the emergency services that attended the scene, the town is in deep shock and sadness tonight,โ added Cllr Teskey.
