
AROUND 500 boys and girls will be involved in the 2025 Munster GAA Primary Game.
Played at half time during Munster Senior Championship fixtures, these exhibition matches give young children the opportunity to wear their county jersey on โBig Match Dayโ, sharing the spotlight with their heroes on their โField of Dreamsโ in front of huge crowds of ardent supporters.
Many children who made their inter-county debut in the Primary Game have gone on to greater things, including Limerickโs Nickie Quaid, Barry Nash, Declan Hannon, Rebecca Delee, Caoimhe Costello, and Orlaith Kelliher.
โThe emphasis in the Primary Game is on participation, enjoyment and making new friends,โ said Tim Murphy, Munster GAA Chairman.
Dave Collins, chairman of Munster Cumann na mBunscol, emphasised the importance of the games: โThis yearโs Munster GAA Primary Game promises to be very exciting for all the children. Activities such as these are the lifeblood of our games.โ
The launch of the 2025 Munster GAA Primary Game took place at รras Mumhan, Newcastle, Castletroy, Limerick.
In attendance were Aoife Dillane of Kerry, Limerickโs Aidan OโConnor, Darragh McCarthy of Tipperary, Waterfordโ Mark Fitzgerald and Sarah Cosgrove, Limerick.
