INDEPENDENT councillor Jerome Scanlan has called on Limerick City and County Council to urge Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister for Housing James Browne to immediately increase the recently announced funding allocation towards the purchase of properties for tenants-in-situ in Newcastle West.
The Department of Housing, he was informed at last week’s area meeting, have not yet issued the circular in relation to the 2025 funding allocation for housing acquisition in Limerick.
“Once we receive notification, we will keep elected members informed of the budget allocation and any specific conditions associated with it,” the Council said.
