Free trout fishing competition on the River Shannon this May Bank Holiday weekend

A FREE trout fishing competition by the River Shannon takes place this May Bank Holiday weekend.

Limerick and District Anglers Association are hosting the event on Saturday May 3 from 3pm to 6pm.

They will gather at the Treaty Stone at 2.30pm before casting off for the main event.

Founded in 1939, the salmon, trout, and coarse angling club is based on the Shannon and Mulcair Rivers with competitions held all year round.

They cover a vast area of the Shannon from O’Briens Bridge and its tributaries to Thomond Bridge in the heart of Limerick City.
