THE EARLY summer sun was no deterrent for those taking part in the 2025 Great Limerick Run this Sunday (May 5).
Hundreds of runners got out for varying distances, from the six-mile, half marathon, marathon, and marathon relay races.
The overall men’s marathon winner was Pawel Kosek who finished in 2:25:54. Ava Crean won the women’s section with a 2:43:39 time.
The marathon relay was won by ‘Team Culchies’ of the West Limerick Athletics Club, finishing up in 2:33:31.
In the half marathon, Alex Murphy took the top prize in the women’s section with 1:20:00, while Chris Jeuken won the men’s category with 1:08:40.
John Travers won the men’s six-mile race in 29:24, while the women’s category top spot was taken by Sinead O’Connor with a time of 34:32.
The Great Limerick Run Kids Run got underway on Saturday.
