VHI cover agreed in new Bon Secours Hospital in Limerick

Irish Life Health customers will have access to the new Bon Secours hospital in Ballysimon once it opens.

THE NEW Bon Secours hospital in Limerick will provide cover for VHI patients, it has been announced.

The state-of-the-art hospital in Limerick, set to open in September, will offer a wide range of medical services and treatments including a new cardiology service to include comprehensive diagnostics and the associated interventional cardiology suite.

And now, it has been confirmed its services will be open to VHI customers.

The agreement between Vhi and Bon Secours builds upon previous coverage commitments from Irish Life Health, Garda Medical Aid, Prison Officers Medical Aid, and Level Health.

CEO of Bon Secours Hospital Limerick Jason Kenny said the hospital was “pleased to secure this agreement with Vhi for the new Bon Secours Hospital Limerick. We have a long-standing relationship with Vhi throughout our network and this new agreement will help more patients in the region to access the advanced medicine and exceptional care we provide.”

Mark Byrne, director of healthcare partnerships at Vhi, added: “We are very pleased to partner with Bon Secours Limerick to provide Vhi members with access to enhanced hospital care, Cath Lab, a Hospital Access Unit, and a range of other supports.”

The €190million Bon Secours Hospital Limerick is part of Bon Secours Health System’s €300million investment across Ireland, as outlined in its 2025 ‘Resilience, Reliability, and Readiness’ plan.

“Bon Secours Health System’s sustained investment in the Limerick region, alongside its nationwide initiatives, demonstrates the group’s long-established dedication to providing high-quality healthcare and supporting the local economy through job creation,” a spokesman said.
