
OVER €15,000 in funding has been opened to Limerick community groups for global renewable energy projects.
Ørsted announced the funding through their national Community Benefit Fund of €15,300.
Among previous recipients are Mountcollins Development Association AFC and Tournafulla Community Centre.
Operating over 21 wind farms generating 373 MW of green electricity across the island of Ireland, Ørsted has two active wind farms in Limerick, both in Knockawarriga near Abbeyfeale.
In 2024, a total of €18,000 was awarded in Limerick for community initiatives by Ørsted.
